Our Private | Group Childbirth Classes (Lamaze)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION…COVID-19

Birth is essential and helping you to cope especially as your support may be diminished due to hospital safety protocols has become more important than ever! As such, our relaxed, evidenced based one day Lamaze classes are continuing.

We have unfortunately had to temporarily suspend Group In Studio classes but we continue to offer our Private, One to One classes, available 7 days per week to help accommodate your work schedules.

Classes can be taken In Studio or On-Line, just state your preference when you book.

We aim to comply with ALL regulatory Anti Covid-19 measures… The Studio and all public areas are thoroughly sanitized between Classes/Clients. Masks MUST be properly worn (covering nose and mouth) at ALL times.

All Hello Baby Personnel have received Covid-19 vaccinations

At Hello Baby!, We have put together a class that we (and the couples who have taken this class) are very pleased to say does help you to cope in labour, birth and in taking care of yourself and baby! This class is about preparing and empowering you as expectant parents for birth and beyond.

We know that it isn’t like you see on TV and the dramatic breathing on there is for dramatic effect and does not work. So we have put together a class that does!

We use combined techniques from Lamaze, Bradley’s and simple to master pain management techniques. Together with information and exploring your concerns and fears surrounding birth so that we can address them in a meaningful way this class can help you to cope and make decisions right for you, your baby and your birth partner. We also discuss the care of the new parents and baby including breastfeeding.

We do not rush through our classes but give you the time to ask your questions and leave feeling empowered and happy to embrace the next stage of your life.

Hello Baby Doula Services

A Doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a Mother (and Partner) before, during and shortly after child birth to help her achieve the healthiest most satisfying experience possible.

Her role is not to replace your husband/partner/support person but rather to support you all keeping in mind your Birth Plan and your safety.

Ladies who have been fortunate to have good Doula support, report:

  • Lower need for Pharmaceutical Analgesia/Epidurals
  • Lower Caesarean Section rates
  • Increase in overall satisfaction with their birth experience

Hello Baby has hand picked five of the best Certified Doulas in Trinidad & Tobago.

Have a read of their individual Biographies to find the one that is right for you.

Denesia

Denesia is calm and reassurance personified. She believes in the inimitable strength of women and invites you to believe in yourself and to draw on your own and her strength during your birth. She helps her moms to trust their instincts and their bodies to surrender to the power of their birth.  Denesia is non judgmental and willing to help every woman to have a positive birth, however that may look for you. She is very level headed and can be your “rock” during labour and delivery.  She is a Registered Dietitian, a Registered Public Health Nutritionist and a Breastfeeding Counsellor and, in these roles, already advocates for mom’s rights.  She is a mom of two and is determined that no mom should lack in the support that she needs during their birth.

“There is something magical, powerful and even divine about that moment when your baby is born.  You too, are born as parents so it is my privilege to support you during this precious moment in life” – Denesia Venus

Leona

Leona has a quiet inner strength which she “lends” to her mothers throughout their entire birth. Her ability to “hold space” for her moms, in a supportive, comforting and non-judgemental way, allows for them to be the heroine of their own birth story. She may seem unassuming but her generosity of her time, kindness, and spirit has brought comfort and reassurance to all the families she has worked with. British by birth but Trinibagonian by heart, gives Leona a calm, soothing voice in the midst of the chaos of homes and hospitals when someone goes into labour. A dedicated mom and wife, Leona is one of the gentlest souls you will ever meet. Her razor sharp mind and willingness to go above and beyond for her moms makes her a worthy advocate for her families.

“I know all women are wonderfully made for giving birth; I want to help all mothers to trust their instincts and to discover their inner strength to give birth to their beautiful babies” – Leona Benjamin

Rhea

Rhea lights up any room she enters with her sunshine personality and positive energy. Rhea has a background in music, and certainly understands the rhythm of birth. Like any epic musical, your birth will have its highs and lows and Rhea is able to get her moms through every stage of this beautiful, messy and life changing symphony that is bringing new life into this world. She is spontaneous and creative in supporting mothers in a way that makes them feel heard. Rhea is a joy to be around with her bubbly, effervescent nature that can adapt to the many moods of birth. She is sure to lift any mother’s spirits during labour and delivery and her thirst for knowledge helps her to ensure that her moms always have the information they need for an empowered birth.

“My super power is compassion, mothers need more compassion! This is one of the many reasons I became a doula. Everybody else wants to hold the baby, I want to hold the mother.” – Rhea Reyes

Rhonda

Rhonda has a heart of gold and hands of magic. She is lively, energetic and vivacious when needed but calm, quiet and steady as she adapts to what her moms need. She became an Internationally Certified Doula to support mothers in this vulnerable, soul bearing yet empowering moment.  As a Licensed Massage Therapist, she can soothe and ease the way through your pregnancy, birth and post-natal journey. Rhonda is resourceful, considerate and thinks of the potential needs of her moms in labour and will do everything in her power to give her moms a positive birth. A mom herself, she uses her challenging experience to fuel her desire for her moms to have a positive birth experience. Clients speak about her herculean mental, spiritual and physical strength when the going gets tough. Her love and passion for helping other women is remarkable.

“I know what it is like to plan your perfect birth and not have it go as planned.  I have dealt with the emotional rollercoaster of it all from my own birth and so my desire is to support and prepare mothers through their journey” – Rhonda Wilson

Sarojini

In Sarojini you will find the warmth, safety and comfort of a mother’s arms.  Her name means “The Queen of Lilies” and she is the beauty and grace of her namesake. A mom of two herself, she learnt how to care for others at an early age as her mother was first generation Indo-Trinidadian and was the person in the village who took care of other moms and did traditional baby massage. This is where she got her interest in Ayurveda.  A practicing yogi herself, she understands the amazing capability of the female body to bend but never break during birth. Sarojini helps her moms to tap into the ancient wisdom of birth as they themselves transform into a Mother. If it takes a village, Sarojini brings the village to support you in one extraordinary lady.

“Walking with families through this important time in life is my deep passion and I am so honored when I’m invited to share this time with others. I believe that all mothers deserve to feel strong, beautiful & empowered as they give birth”- Sarojini Lutchman

Early Pregnancy Information Session

Planned Caesarean Section Class

Early Pregnancy Session:

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Finding out you are pregnant can be filled with many emotions. There is joy and excitement but you may also be a bit apprehensive or worried and have questions about what is safe and what you should or shouldn’t be doing. The Internet can be helpful but can also be confusing as there is so much conflicting information out there. Visits to your pregnancy care professional will help but often you (and they) don’t have enough time to ask everything you want to know.

This is where this class come in. We give you the facts, with evidence and researched backed advice that helps you to dispel the myths and help you to have a happy, healthy pregnancy. Please allow at least 3 hours for this class, this enables us to ensure you receive all the information you need and gives time for all your questions – we know you will have plenty!

Please note certificate for hospital is not awarded for this class, please see Childbirth Class (Lamaze) if this is required.

Planned Caesarean Section Class:

There are many cases when the safest birth for both you and your baby is a planned (elective) caesarean section.

If you and your medical professional have agreed that this is the best way forward for you, a traditional childbirth class may not be suitable. You will have fears, anxieties and challenges in recovery and in the postnatal period in caring for yourself and for your newborn baby – and this should not be taken for granted.

This type of birth is often not an easy decision, and it should not be assumed to be any less valid or acknowledged. Expectant parents should be supported just as much as anyone else and this class aims to do that.

This class offers no judgements just information on all the common ways to feed your baby.

Feeding your baby will occupy a great amount of time and we want you to be able to make informed, safe decisions based on choosing what is right for you and baby not because of well intentioned but sometimes mis-guided advice and opinions.
